i worked from home today because last night i picked my brother up at 12:30am from the airport and i decided i didn't want to peel myself out of bed at 7 (which may not have even been possible if i tried). i have been needing my sleep lately so this seemed like a good plan except that instead of working i slept (til around 11), made breakfast, did laundry, ran an errand, and talked on the telephone. this is not a productive work day. i did manage to focus on my work, for about 1 or 2 hours total. not sequentially. so tomorrow it is back to the office where i can limit my putzing around to normal amounts. it was fun though. it was like a free day. and i think i needed it. so i finished eat, pray, love today. it was a good read. i'd recommend it. i loved the chapters on italy just because i was jealous and could vicariously live through her stories. and i felt for her. some of it was trite, but for the most part i understood where she was coming from. on that note, i'm going to start my new book tonight - water for elephants. i hope i get into it. it usually doesn't take long to tell if i'm going to get involved with a story or not. |
