yesterday was may day. toni's first in mpls. my one of many. dan thought it was going to be rained out and was all ready to cancel everything but i held out hope. and said that we were going unless it was ridiculously pouring. we ended up at the parade right before it started (no rain in sight, and none to come!) and were on this hill that was so slanted i had a hard time not sliding down it every two minutes. the parade was awesome, the only less awesome part was that my camera ran out of battery about 1/2 way through the parade. then we went to the festival but we didn't do enough planning ahead and didn't have a spot on the hill to watch the festivities. definitely making a mental note to do it better next year. but then we were attacked by bees. and i said something about hopefully not having to go to the hospital. and there was some scary-ness because like 4 of them landed on the two of us at once. very very bad. so we left. basically. there was talk of seeing more but the bees scared us off and there were people waiting for us at casa de liora & dan. then we bbq-ed. it was a little windy but not too bad. we had good mild sized attendance, and after the hoopla died down we had some hooka time. this may be my personal highlight, because the hooka time brought out all sorts of hilarious stories about sex and families and such. i almost fell out of my chair. toni almost bust a muscle in her tummy. and dan was extra funny. and other dan was also enjoyable. all in all a good time. |
