today is a low key day at the office. i have a pile of stuff. but nothing too urgent. so i can relax and do my work and do other little things in the interim. like check email. write blogs. follow up with grad school applications. etc. i am looking forward to this evening post work because it is laundry and grey's night. i am not looking forward to the laundry part so much but i am looking forward to the post laundry part where i have lots of clean things to show for my hard work. i am currently the only one in my office. this is the first time this has happened. mostly because the assistant director always seems to be here never takes lunch and stays late all the time but she is on a two day vacation so this is why it is quiet. i am covering for the front desk lady because she had to run out during lunch and the office can't be entirely empty although i do think it should be a general rule that school offices will be closed down for an hour during lunch. but whatever, usually i am not the person that is most bothered by this. but if i were mary, the front desk lady, i would be extra bothered because she technically gets time off for lunch and she hardly ever leaves the front desk for it and often brings food and eats it right there. anyway, it's cool, she is the boss of fighting for her rights. i am the boss of not worrying about it. i officially am leaving at 4 today. i've been putting in some extra time to kind of show that i'm a team player and not running out the door when my day is technically over but today i'm not going to play that game, i'm just going to go. no one seems to notice either way so i'm going to do what i want and go with that. |
