i feel like i just got punched. on the phone with a friend. happen to say "hey, why don't you come home for xmas or new years", and she's like "you just don't know what's it's like to work in a restaurant". apparently they get no days off in the restaurant world. which is fine. and i actually knew that before. and even with that knowledge would have probably still encouraged her to try to arrange a few days to come home and see her family and friends. but anyway, this is the next thing out of her mouth that really threw me. "you just don't work at all, do you". oh man, low blow. and i told her so right there. and got off the phone. not right for friends to hit you when you're down. not when they are merely expressing their wishes to see you perchance. for fucks sake. plus i am working now so it doesn't even make sense. |
